Recently acquired. Had been abandoned for a few years, I understand , and I have just started a "rebuild". Just a quick update , I couldn't get the engine to start and after the guy I called on to help had finished laughing, he told me that the Johnson was probably a million years old and appeared to have been regularly serviced by a psychotic butcher he advised me to replace it ."White Elephant" therefore, now has a 20 hp Honda 4 stroke petrol engine, and is able to MOVE! What an exciting and frightening experience as I did the first trip (just to a different mooring) on my own! Jumping onto the bank with a mooring peg thing in one hand and a painter in the other must be an acquired pleasure!!
